Từ vựng miêu tả sự tăng giảm 


Để áp dụng những từ vựng này, các bạn có 3 cách: 

There is/are/was/were/has/have been + a/an+ (adverb) + adjective + noun

There were wild fluctuations during the last few months.

There was a dramatic rise in the number of attendees

Noun + (Adverb) + Verb 

Sales figures dropped sharply/suddenly/graduallyin April 2007.

Membership rose steeply/slightly/significantly during the summer month.

Noun + Saw + (Adverb) + Adj + Noun

London saw a significant increasein the cost of homes.


Cấu trúc so sánh 

So sánh hơn 

more + noun + than

More males than females chose the TV.

adjective+ -er+ than

The price of an apartment was lower in 1946 than 1999.

fewer +noun + than

Fewer females than males chose the TV.

more/less + adjectives+ than:

The TV was more popular among males than females.


So sánh nhất 

he most/least + adjective

The most popular form of communication was the Internet.

the+ adjective+ -est

The fastest means of communication is emailing.


So sánh bằng 

as many …… as

As many females as males chose the computer.

not as many …… as

Not as many males as females chose the radio


Adverb dùng trong so sánh

Bằng cách thêm những trạn từ vào trước cấu truc so sánh, bài của bạn sẽ được nâng lên 1 tầm cao mới. Nhưng phải hết sức cẩn thận vì nghĩa của mỗi trạng từ một khác, nên hãy có gắng nhớ và áp dụng đúng nhé. 

slightly more/less …… than ……

Slightly more women than men voted for the bicycle.

considerably more/less …… than ……
In the past, considerably more people lived in the countryside than towns.

many more …… than ……

Many more people can use a computer today than thirty years ago.

substantially more/less
Substantially less time is now spent doing housework than before.

significantly fewer + count nouns
There are significantly fewer people now working in manufacturing than in the past.

far fewer/more +count nouns
Sports programs are watched by practically as many people now as in the past.

much more/less + adjective
The exhibition about cinema attracted far fewer visitors than expected. 

nearly as many …… as ……
Illiteracy is much less common than in previous generations.

quite as many …….. as …….
Nearly as many children as adults watch programs about ancient history.
